Court turns down Maina’s request on adjournment


The Federal High Court in Abuja has turned down the request made by Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, for an adjournment to prepare for his defence.

Acccording to Justice Okon Abang,, the request was a ploy to waste the judicial time of the court.

The Judge had on December 4, adjourned the prayer made by Maina’s lawyer to Tuesday (today).

Maina’s new lawyer, Mr. Adaji Abel, had pleaded that the court should give him more  to prepare for the case of the embattled client.

Maina was recently arrested in Niger Republic and was extradited to Nigeria after he was accused of Jumping bail. His trial resumes immediately upon his arrival to Nigeria.
