Covid-19: Kogi State records first cases, two persons test positive

Kogi State has recorded first cases of the novel coronavirus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said on Wednesday night that two persons have been infected in the state.

It was the first time that positive results were confirmed for Kogi since the outbreak in Nigeria – exactly three months ago.

In its tweet, NCDC announced 389 new patients and 5 new deaths.

The new cases are in 22 states of the federation.

The top five are Lagos – 256, Katsina – 23, Edo – 22, Rivers – 14 and Kano – 13.

There are now 8733 cases; 2501 have been discharged and 254 deaths recorded.

Coronavirus has affected over 5.7milliom people and killed 356,000 across several countries.
