The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Wednesday, said that it had made adequate preparations, in terms of personnel and logistics, to ensure that the festive period of Christmas season was accident-free.
Its Commander in Kwara state, Sunday Maku, made the assertion at the “Ember Months” campaign in Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that theme of the 2017 Ember Months Campaign is: “Right to Life on The Highway is Not Negotiable.”
According to Maku, every human being is always under continuous threat in many ways, particularly through road traffic crashes. He said that it was the responsibility of FRSC, as enshrined in the constitution, to ensure rights to life on the highway by road users was adequately protected.
Also, Oluyinka Adetunji, the FRSC Unit Commander in Omu-Aran, urged motorists to always abide by road traffic regulation in order to reduce accidents and attendant casualty on the highways.
