Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has backed Kaduna Governor, Nasir el-Rufai for the sacking of teachers, who failed primary four exams in the state.
The co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) added that those who truly care about Nigeria’s future will back Kaduna Government’s move to sack teachers who failed competency test.
El-Rufai has faced severe criticism over his decision to sack over 21,000 teachers that failed the test.
And according to Ezekwesili, those who care about children will not only support the move but demand that such be replicated across the nation.
“ALL who TRULY CARE about our Children as the PRESENT & FUTURE of Nigeria,” Ezekwesili tweeted, “will not only support the resolve of the Kaduna Govt but will also DEMAND that it be speedily BROADENED into a Nationwide Program for DEEP IMPROVEMENT of #TeacherQuality.”
