A Sokoto-based group, Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki Progressive Association has called on the Federal Government to release the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki (rtd) from detention.

The Secretary of the group, Kabiru  Auwal, said the continued detention of Dasuki was unlawful because he was granted bail by four different courts.

Auwal said It is two years since Dasuki was re-arrested after securing his bail condition which was ignored by the Federal Government.

The group noted that he had recovered more than 24 towns from Boko Haram initiated the conduct of peaceful elections in 2015 across the country including the North East without disruption by Boko Haram terrorism.

The group called on the Federal Government to release Dasuki in compliance with the rulings of competent courts while it continues with the case in open court rather than in secret or media trial.
