Taraba governor, wife not involved in accident – Media Aide

The Senior Special Assistant to Taraba  Governor on Media and Publicity,  Bala Dan Abu, has denied knowledge of  an  accident involving the convoy of the state governor, Darius Ishaku, saying nothing like that happened.

Punch had reported that a police intelligence officer attached to the wife of the governor, Anna , on Thursday evening died when the car they were traveling in, in the convoy of Governor Ishaku had accident along Bali Jalingo road.

Two other occupants of the vehicle, a CIB police officer and a nurse are said to be in a critical condition  according to the report.

The newspaper quoting an eyewitness, said the vehicle, which was far behind on the governor’s convoy on their way back from Takum where the governor spent his Christmas and New Year break, veered off the road when one of the tires got burst.

“It’s a sad day for us. A CIB personnel who works with the wife of the governor  as Chief Detail died instantly in the accident.

“A lady colleague of his and a nurse attached to the governor’s wife are all unconscious as I speak,” the eyewitness told Punch.

The governor’s Spokesman insisted there was no accident involving his principal’s convoy: “I drove to Jalingo on the same convoy and I can tell you that nothing like that happened. We all came into Jalingo together.

“People have been calling me about the accident, but I can tell you nothing like that happened.”
