The Department of State Services (DSS) has raised an alarm that some of persons are planning to cause ethnoreligious violence in some parts of the country.
This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Service, Dr Peter Afunanya, on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the statement, the targeted States were Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, Plateau, Rivers, Oyo, Lagos, and those in the South East.
DSS added that the plot were to cause inter-religious conflicts and use some elements to attack some worship centres, religious leaders and personalities
Afunanya said the developments is to let Nigerians know about the desperate efforts by these groups to disrupt public order.
Acccording to him, the elements are planning to resort to unguarded and divisive statements, to cause anger in the land among citizens.
“For the umpteenth time, the Service strongly warns these elements to desist forthwith from their (planned) nefarious acts or face the full wraths of the law.
“The DSS will, in collaboration with other security and law enforcement agencies, take necessary steps to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizenry,” he said.
