The immediate past Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi; has extolled the virtues of the late Chairman of Punch Nigeria Limited, Gbadebowale Aboderin, who died on Wednesday in Lagos.
Fayemi, who commiserated with the Aboderin family and the Punch management and staff over the death of the amiable Aboderin, said the deceased was a distinguished sports enthusiast and philanthropist.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Yinka Oyebode, the Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, described the news of Aboderin ’s death as shocking and devastating .
Fayemi noted that Aboderin was a man of great humility and ever bubbling with life and great ideas.
He added that the deceased won his admiration after he took over the mantle of leadership at the Punch and was able to sustain the newspaper as the flagship in the media industry.
“The death of this amiable gentleman is , to say the least, saddening.
“We shall miss his cheerfulness and generous spirit . Our prayer is that God will keep, comfort and strengthen his entire family, ” he said.
