President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the suspended Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke.
The President has following this development, appointed Boss Mustapha as the new SGF.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.
Adesina also said that President Buhari has approved the termination of the appointment of the suspended Director-General National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke after he had studied the report of the panel headed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, which investigated allegations against the Babachir and Oke.
The President also approved the setting up of a three-member panel to, among other things, look into the operational, technical and administrative structure of the Agency and make appropriate recommendations.
The presidency had In December 2016 inaugurated an Investigation Committee that indicted Lawal,on the allegations of violations in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
