Certain influential politicians in Southeast don’t want freedom for Kanu- Iwuanyanwu
Dan Iwuanyanwu, the National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has leveled accusations against prominent political figures and wealthy businessmen within the Southeast for endorsing the ongoing imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu, the illustrious leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Iwuanyanwu articulated these claims on Monday during an interview on ‘Politics Today,’ a program aired on Channels Television and followed closely by DAILY POST.
He indicated that the powers at play in the Southeast are apprehensive about what he termed as the ‘genuine affection for Kanu.’
“There are several influential businessmen entrenched in various enterprises in Abuja, particularly in oil and related sectors.
“Additionally, certain high-ranking politicians believe—correctly so—that if Nnamdi Kanu were to be released at this moment, it would spell doom for the political aspirations of various individuals, effectively ending their careers without him uttering a single word. Nnamdi Kanu is cherished by the populace,” Iwuanyanwu stated.
DAILY POST notes that on Monday, human rights advocate Omoyele Sowore, alongside concerned Nigerians, orchestrated a demonstration in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) demanding the liberation of the pro-Biafra figurehead.
