Grass cutting contract: More trouble for former SGF as EFCC constitutes probe panel

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has set up a crack team to probe the fraud allegations against the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

Lawal was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari based on the report of the committee chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo over an alleged fraud in a grass cutting contract linked to him and his company.

He was subsequently replaced by Boss Mustapha.

The Advocate learnt the team, made up of special investigators from the EFCC, is to examine all the details relating to the N200 million contract for the cutting of grass in the North East which is linked to the former SGF.
