A member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to put an end to the Boko Haram insurgency.

He argued that fighters of the terror group are not foreigners but Nigerians and hence the need to dialogue with them to end renewed attacks.

Iwuanyanwu said this when addressing a delegation of Muslim Students Association of Nigeria, who conferred on him a Peace Ambassador Award at his residence on Tuesday in Abuja.

“The Federal Government should find out why these people are really fighting because they are Nigerians,” he said.

“So, the government should dialogue with them because dialogue is a way of addressing the problem.

“These people are Nigerians so get them and talk to them with a view to changing their mindset because you can’t chase them away from Nigeria,” he said.
