Killings of Rice Farmers: Lawan leads FG’s delegation to Borno

The Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmmed has confirmed via his Tweeter handle that a federal government delegation led by the Senate President was in Borno on Monday to visit people and government of the state over the killings of rice farmers by Boko Haram insurgents.

The Tweet reads: “Federal Government delegation is in Maiduguri, on a condolence visit to the gov’t and people of Borno State over the heinous and senseless killing of farmers by the terrorists over the weekend. The delegation is led by SP, Dr. Ahmad Lawan and Chief of Staff to the President.

The delegation includes the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari and ministers such like  Communications and Digital Economy, Ali Pantami; Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, Communications and Digital Economy, and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mustapha Shehuri.

The National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno(rtd.) was also part of the high profile delegation.
