Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State government has approved the installation of Senator Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadan land.
The State government approved March 11 as the installation date.
It will be recalled that the position of the Olubadan of Ibadan land became vacant as a result of the death of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji.
He approved the installation of Lekan Balogun who will be the 42nd Olubadan.
The new one was contained in a letter by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Dr Bashir Olanrewaju.
The letter was made available on Wednesday morning.
The letter addressed to Balogun was titled: “Installation Ceremony: Olubadan of Ibadan”.
The letter reads: “I wish to refer to a letter No.18SELG.243TI/17 of 16 February, 2022 on the above subject and inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State has approved Friday, 11 of March, 2022 as the date of the Installation of the New Olubadan of Ibadan. Once again, Congratulations, Kabiyesi.”
