The Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Rogers Nicholas, has said that two soldiers were wounded in the ongoing clearance operation against Boko Haram insurgents in Bama Local Government Area of Borno.

Rogers, a Major-General, gave the clarification on Monday in Maiduguri while reacting to reports that some soldiers and military vehicles went missing in the attack by the insurgents at Kwakwa community of Bama.

He disclosed that only an officer and a soldier sustained injuries in the attack, adding that the wounded soldiers were receiving treatment at a medical facility.

“It is not true; we did not loss anybody in the operation, we had only two injuries, one officer and a soldier wounded.

“The General Commanding Officer (GOC), 7 Division, Abdulmalik Biu, has just come from Bama. He went there to assess the situation in continuation of the clearance operation.

“We need to work with facts and we are always ready to share information with the media so that you present true situation of events,” Rogers said.
