Report reaching The Advocate says that the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) protesters in Abuja are confronting the operatives of the Nigeria Police which has banned protests in the capital.
The group were stopped by the Police from continuing their sit-out at the Unity Fountain as part of call for the release of their leader, Ibrahim el-Zakzaky.
According to some Twitter users, many have been injured by the tear gas and water canon used by the Police to disperse the protesters.
