A reporter with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN),Taiye Elebiyo Edeni was seriously brutalised by security operatives, at the venue where President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned Kaduna dry port on Thursday.

Edeni, who was was duly accredited to cover the inauguration of Nigeria’s first Inland Dry Port by President Buhari as the Transport correspondent of NAN, came from Abuja to cover the event.

The unfortunate incident happened at the main venue of the commissioning of the Dry Port, Down Quarters, Kakuri, ahead the arrival of President Buhari and his entourage.

The attack on journalists was heightened after the security denied them access to the main venue despite having their accredited tags.

Meanwhile, there is currently no official reaction from the government or security agencies regarding the incident.

Theadvocate.ng had broken the news Thursday afternoon and also confirmed from a source in NAN who though claimed the reporter was a colleague, but would volunteer no additional information.
