Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has insisted that the unity of Nigeria can’t be negotiated.
The Minister made this statement in Calabar after watched a performance by the cultural troupe of the Department of Culture and Heritage, Cross River Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
It was gathered that the event is part of the activities for the celebration of the 2022 World Tourism Day the state is hosting.
Speaking about the cultural activities, he told those clamouring for separation to drop the agitation.
According to him, the unity of the people for decades was a pointer to the importance of peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
“I wish that those who said Nigeria is at war should witness what we have seen today”, the Minister said during the event.
“Those who said Nigeria has no future, I wish they were here today.
“The drama of unity means not one of us can do it alone. Anyone that has witnessed war before will never wish for war or separation”, he said.
